Meet Helen

Hi, I’m Helen—welcome to Red Dog Glass Studio!

Born in Calgary, Alberta, to Hungarian immigrant parents, I was raised with a deep appreciation for tradition, culture, and creativity. My artistic journey began with painting and experimenting with various mediums, but everything changed in 1985 when I discovered glass during a workshop at Red Deer College. It was love at first sight. Glass fulfilled everything I had been seeking, leading me to leave my job, move cities, and fully commit to my passion.

For 40 years, glass has been my lifeline—shaping my art, my purpose, and my connection to the world. Nature is my greatest muse, and every piece I create reflects its beauty, energy, and emotion. Red Dog Glass Studio is more than an art space; it’s a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and the beauty found in life’s complexities.

Through workshops, exhibitions, and custom creations, I hope to inspire, enrich, and ignite a love for glass art. Every piece is crafted with passion, meaning, and a commitment to sustainability—timeless treasures designed to bring joy for generations.
